Special Education

Special education services are provided at the Elementary, Middle and High School levels. Students can receive a variety of services including speech therapy, occupational therapy, physical therapy, counseling, and academic support. Students ages three to twenty-one can be given services by the district. Only students who are classified can receive services. Students receive services in all three on campus buildings as well as outside of the district at TST BOCES, and other facilities. Teachers and parents can refer students for services, which are evaluated on a yearly basis at Committee on Special Education (CSE) meetings.

The role of support specialists is varied. Teachers push into classrooms, have small specialized classrooms and co-teach with other teachers to support students. Students who attend Study Center can receive assistance in writing, reading, mathematics, content area material and study skills.
